Location
SoulDreams apartment is situated in Rocca Priora, a small town in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio, Italy. It is one of the Castelli Romani towns, about 25 kilometers (16 mi) southeast of Rome. Our holiday property is located in a beautiful mountain landscape, right in front of Monte Salomone, in a quiet location where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the Castelli Romani National Park, in the Colli Albani area.
The Archaeological area of the Tusculum is easily accessible by foot from us: the ancient Via Sacra is now a world heritage site, crisscrossed by a myriad of walking/cycle trails.
Close to Frascati and Grottaferrata, the town has a privileged position being the highest town of Castelli Romani (748 m.a.m.s.l.). It is an ideal base from which to explore an area once described as having the richest pure air because of the altitude: the apartment is 690 m.a.m.s.l.
The Pneumologic Hospital A.C. Cartoni, which a Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is dedicated to helping patients breathe easier, is only 1km from us.
There are many great places to visit and paths in the woods to explore within a 10 km radius of the apartment. It is
also well placed to access the Pratoni del Vivaro where the Italian National Olympic Committee set up a horse racing center in 1959.
In short, there is something for every interest and everybody in the Lazio region and all in easy reach from the house!
Rocca Priora vacation
The town of Rocca Priora, which until the end of the 1900s was the Glacier of Rome, is strategically located overlooking the Valle Latina, which offers a mountain atmosphere and amazing landscapes surrounding the Vulcano Laziale area.
A walk through the picturesque alleys of the historical center, hidden on the side of a high hill facing towards Monte Ceraso, offers glimpses of what seems to be time gone by. Arriving at the Rocca Priora Castle, positioned on the top of the town, you can get great views over the entire area looking out from the Belvedere, a chance to enjoy one of the most breathtaking panoramas of the Castelli, in the direction of Rome and the Tiburtini, Prenestini and Ernici Mounts.
Do make the effort to see some of the nearby museums, which help make a great choice. Visit the museums of Sistema Museale Territoriale (Museumgrandtour) and the artistic and historic collections including the Toy Museum of Zagarolo.
The most interesting places to see are Ville Tuscolane, the Cathedral of Frascati, and the Abbazia di San Nilo in Grottaferrata. To really get a feel for the area, History lovers will enjoy checking out Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo. These spots are popular with travelers from all over the world!
How to Reach Us
The closest airport, Ciampino airport, is approximately 18 kilometers (11 mi) to the southeast; Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino international airport, is 52 kilometers (33 mi) to the west. This is Rome’s main airport and it is well-connected with the city center during the day by express train.
Getting to & from Rome
Rocca Priora is the perfect place to stay in Rome as a large number of the area's star attractions are within easy reach. To get to the center of Rome from our apartment, take the COTRAL bus ( the bus stop is visible from the south balcony) get off at Metro A Anagnina Station, then to Termini Station. Reaching from Frascati, Tor Vergata, or Zagarolo train stations the journey to Stazione Termini (Rome's main train station), takes about 30/40 minutes.
